1 Colombo
Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, has a long history as a port on ancient east-west trade routes, ruled successively by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. That heritage is reflected in its its architecture, mixing colonial buildings with high-rises and shopping malls. The imposing Colombo National Museum, dedicated to Sri Lankan history, borders sprawling Viharamahadevi Park and its giant Buddha.

2 Negombo
Negombo is a city on the west coast of Sri Lanka, north of the capital, Colombo. Near the waterfront, the remains of the 17th-century Dutch Fort now house a prison. Negombo Lagoon, lined with fishermen’s huts, feeds into the Dutch-era Hamilton Canal. The canal leads south to Colombo. Neoclassical St. Mary’s Church, completed in the 1920s, features a ceiling decorated with vivid religious paintings.

The Cultural Triangle is concentrated with many Buddhist Temples, Sculptures, Ancient Monasteries and Stupas while some of them date as back to over 2000 years. 4 Kandy
Kandy is a large city in central Sri Lanka. It's set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, which are home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforest. The city's heart is scenic Kandy Lake (Bogambara Lake), which is popular for strolling. Kandy is famed for sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) shrine, celebrated with the grand Esala Perahera annual procession.

Detailed Itinerary

Day ONE +-
  • Day 01: Arrival Colombo- Negombo (12kms/20mns)
Greeted by Sri Lanka Travel Centre representative at the Bandaranaike International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Negombo. Spend the day at leisure relaxing and unwinding at the hotel. Enjoy a boat ride in the evening. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle for the transfer)
Day TWO +-
  • Day 02: Negombo
After breakfast, you will visit the busy fishing village and the markets of Negombo. Negombo consists of a picturesque lagoon, numerous Catholic churches and an impressive network of canals built by the Dutch. The true life of Negombo can be observed in its fish markets, with much action taking place in the early hours of the day when the fresh catch is brought in. Rest of the day at leisure. Day THREE +-
  • Day 03: Negombo – Cultural Triangle (185kms/4hrs)
Today you will travel to the famed Cultural Triangle and check in to the hotel where you can spend the evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel. (Vehicle for transfer.)
Day FOUR +-
  • Day 04: Cultural Triangle
Visit the spectacular Sigiriya Rock Fortress, an awe inspiring palace- cum- fortress sitting atop a 200m rock outcrop. Built in the 5th century by a tyrant king fleeing exile, the fortress, now rated as the eighth wonder of the world, is a jaw-dropping architectural marvel. The stiff climb to the top is one of the island’s most memorable experiences taking you from the moat, ramparts and water gardens that ring the base up narrow steps and past 5th century paintings of heavenly maidens on the rock face. Later in the afternoon, visit the Minneriya National Park by jeep accompanied by a tracker. The region is home to wild elephants who gather in huge herds on the shores of the lake to drink and bathe. Return to the hotel for your overnight stay. (Vehicle at disposal)
Day FIVE +-
  • Day 05: Cultural Triangle – Kandy
After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and travel to Kandy. On your way, you will visit a spice garden in Matale, where many varieties of spices are grown. Continue to Kandy and check into your hotel. In the afternoon take a biking tour of the city, visit the famed temple of the Sacred Tooth relic and view a cultural show featuring traditional Kandyan dance performances. Day SIX +-
  • Day 06: Kandy
Today you will travel to Peradeniya and visit the Royal Botanical Gardens. Established in 1821, the Botanical Gardens occupy nearly 150 acres on a loop on the river Mahaweli. Complete with an orchid house offering more than 300 varieties of orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palms trees. Continue to Giragama, where you will visit a tea factory and a plantation. Return to the hotel for your overnight stay. (Vehicle at disposal)
Day SEVEN +-
  • Day 07: Kandy – Badulla – Yala
Today you will take an enchanting toy train journey through the hills to Badulla before proceeding to Yala. Ride in the Observation Salon of the “Podi Menike” Express Train bound to Badulla where the tracks navigate countless little viaducts and iron bridges as you travel through lush hills and valleys. Disembark at Badulla from where you will be picked up and transferred to Yala. Evening at leisure. Check in to the hotel for overnight stay. (Vehicle at disposal)
Day EIGHT +-
  • Day 08: Yala
Embark on a wildlife safari tour of the Yala National Park today. Located on the south east coast, the Yala National Park which is one of the country’s most premier is divided into five blocks. Block one is the most popular since it contains the highest density of leopards. The best time to spot a leopard is early in the morning and then again at dusk. It’s not uncommon to see male leopards walking confidently along the tracks during the day providing excellent photo opportunities. Overnight stay in the hotel
Day NINE +-
  • Day 09: Yala – Colombo (300kms/6hrs)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and travel along the scenic inland route to Colombo. Enroute stop at the stunning Udawalawe National Park and the reservoir, for lunch. Continue to Colombo. Check into the Mount Lavinia Hotel late in the afternoon Spend the evening exploring the city’s many treats which has something for everyone in the family. Overnight at the hotel. Day TEN +-
  • Day 10: Colombo – Departure (40kms/1hr)
Departure transfer to the airport for your return flight. (Vehicle for transfer)
