Well-situated within walking distance from heritage monuments such as the Old Synagogue, the Dutch Palace, and the popular antique market of Mattancherry, Hotel Fort House is an attractive destination for travellers looking for a comfortable and refreshing time away from the bustle of city life.
Rooms
3 rooms. Our hotel has 16 spacious, airy rooms in the new part of the building and three rooms in the old one. The rooms are built around a lush tropical garden which opens out into a long 'thinna' or verandah that provides a view of greenery and the backwaters. Constructed in the characteristic Kerala architecture, the rooms have modern conveniences and are air-conditioned..
Dining
Our waterfront restaurant offers a pleasant ambience, generated by the fresh sea breeze and the gentle sounds of water lapping against the pier. Seafood dishes - a hallmark of the Kerala Latin Christian cuisine - are among our specialties. Our dishes bear the flavour and diversity of home- cooked food and avoid the overuse of spices. Vegans among our guests are offered a selection of deliciously flavoured traditional vegetarian fare. For the homesick traveller we have a variety of pastas and other European dishes.

Location
Hand-picked stay in Cochin. Our Cochin team arranges transfers and can pair this stay with anywhere else on your route.
Elegant reconstructed 1880s Catholic church originally built by the Portuguese in the 1500s.
Built by the Portuguese in 1557 as a gift to the ruler of Kochi, the palace was renovated by the Dutch in 1663 and oddly is named after the Dutch.
Built in 1503 by the Portuguese, this is India’s oldest European church. Vasco Da Gama was buried here in 1524 before his remains were moved to Portugal. The tombstone still remains.
These huge 15th century cantilevered fishing nets are the legacy of Chinese traders. These nets are set up on teak wood and bamboo poles and you can watch the nets being lowered by the fishermen from the Vasco Da Gama square along the beach.

Our Cochin team will build it into a journey that suits how you travel, and tell you honestly if somewhere else would suit you better.
