Why stay at Old Lighthouse Bristow
Located on the Fort Kochi beach, The Old Lighthouse Bristow was until 1940, the residence of Sir Robert Bristow, the architect of the modern Cochin port. The mansion was also used as a lighthouse during the colonial period and later served as the residence for senior port officials before being converted into a pristine resort hotel. The original light house mast still stands within the resort to this day. The nine rooms of the Old Lighthouse Bristow, which include three deluxe suites, bear testimony to colonial British architecture and its long hallways adorned with paintings and sculptures add a rich colonial flavour to the experience. All the rooms open to a beautiful garden and a view of the Arabian Sea. The resort also has two villas on offer for the discerning tourist. The Bristow's Bistro is the hotel's outdoor dining area that overlooks the Fort Cochin beach and provides for a quiet evening to relax and take in the simple pleasures of watching the sunset or the fishermen coming home. Other attractions include the Lighthouse Lounge and the Vinocean Bar.

- St. Francis Church
Built in 1503 by the Portuguese, this is India’s oldest European church. Vasco Da Gama was buried here in 1524 before his remains were moved to Portugal. The tombstone still remains.
- Chinese Fishing Nets
These huge 15th century cantilevered fishing nets are the legacy of Chinese traders. These nets are set up on teak wood and bamboo poles and you can watch the nets being lowered by the fishermen from the Vasco Da Gama square along the beach.
