Located on the west coast and near the extreme south of the state, Thiruvananthapuram, otherwise known as Trivandrum, is the capital of Kerala. The British, during their rule, found the name to be too complicated and rechristened it 'Trivandrum'.
Welcomed by a Kerala Travel Centre representative at the airport and drive to the hotel. The southernmost part of Kerala, Trivandrum is surrounded by the wooded highlands of the Western Ghats in the east and northeast and the Arabian Sea in the west. A long shoreline with secluded, internationally-renowned beaches, historic monuments, backwater stretches, hill stations and a rich cultural heritage are awaiting you here.

Kerala is at its best from October to March, when the rain has cleared, the backwaters are full and the coast is dry. April and May are hot and humid but quiet, and the south-west monsoon from June to September brings heavy afternoon rain, deep green hills and the lowest prices of the year. Many Ayurveda guests deliberately choose the monsoon, when the treatments are considered most effective.
