About this Kerala itinerary

This is our most requested honeymoon, and it is built around the two things couples ask us for most: privacy and time. It opens on the beach at Kovalam, moves onto a houseboat decked with flowers, spends two nights in the hills at Periyar and two on the lake at Kumarakom, then finishes in Cochin.

Everything below is a sample. Our team will lengthen it, swap the hotels up or down a category and add the private moments where you want them.

Trip highlights

  • Stay in a beach resort at Kovalam
  • Overnight cruise in a fully decorated houseboat
  • Stay in a wildlife resort and trek through the jungle
  • Visit a martial arts centre
  • Stay in a backwater resort
  • Explore the historic port city of Cochin
  • Relax with a complimentary Ayurveda massage

Where you'll visit

A beach town on the Arabian Sea, around 16 km from Trivandrum. Kovalam means a grove of coconut trees, and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of them. Three crescent beaches are separated by rocky headlands, of which Lighthouse Beach is the best known.

Day by day

Your itinerary, day by day

Greeted by one of our representatives and driven to Kovalam, one of the most popular beach destinations in Kerala. Kovalam is made up of three crescent beaches separated by rocky headlands, of which Lighthouse Beach is the most famous. The azure water and gentle climate make it a year round favourite. In the evening, enjoy a romantic massage and a complimentary bottle of champagne.

October to March, the sweet spot

Kerala is at its best from October to March, when the rain has cleared, the backwaters are full and the coast is dry. April and May are hot and humid but quiet, and the south-west monsoon from June to September brings heavy afternoon rain, deep green hills and the lowest prices of the year. Many Ayurveda guests deliberately choose the monsoon, when the treatments are considered most effective.
